An <\/strong>\u2013 Heaven, the domain of the gods and goddesses, ruled by An, god of the sky<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u011ci\u0161-\u1e2be<\/strong> \u2013 Sky\/Firmament, ruled by Enlil<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ki<\/strong> \u2013 Earth, where humanity lives<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mountainous regions which encircle the earth<\/strong> \u2013 Called \u201cNag\u00fb\u201d in Akkadian which simply means region. Little is known about these beyond their appearance on maps and vague descriptions given in various myths. They sit in the corners of the world and are the place from which the four winds blow. Additionally, the gate of An and the gate of Utu leading into Heaven and Kur respectively are found within the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abzu<\/strong> \u2013 Primordial freshwater ocean, ruled by Enki<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kur<\/strong> \u2013 The Netherworld, where the dead live. Ruled by Ereshkigal<\/p>\n\n\n\n
